One killed, six injured as five-storey building collapses in Ghaziabad, several feared trapped

July 22 (AZINS) At least one person was killed and six others were injured after a five-storey building collapsed near Missal Gadi in Ghaziabad on Sunday.

The building was located in Akash Nagar area of the Masuri police station limits.

The Ghaziabad police said in a tweet that some labourers were rescued and sent to a hospital for treatment.

The incident comes two days after six-storey building collapsed in Noida.

Police and fire department teams are at the spot. The NDRF teams have also joined them and rescue operation is underway.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed District Magistrate and SSP Ghaziabad to visit the site of building collapse and take action against those guilty.

"Rescue is being done on war footing. We have rescued 7 people out of whom one died and six are in the hospital. Once rescue operation is completed we will investigate who is responsible for it," IG law & order.

At least nine people were killed after two under construction buildings, in Greater Noida's Shah Beri village collapsed.
