Lok Sabha Polls 2024 LIVE: BJP promises to make India energy secure country by 2047

The Lok Sabha Polls 2024 will take place in seven phases starting from April 19 and ending on June 1. The results of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will be announced on June 4. No exit poll shall be published or telecasted from 7 am on April 19 to 6.30 pm on June 1, as per the instructions by the Election Commission.

As April 19 comes closer, political parties have been in the fray to attract voters with manifestos and rallies. Starting April 19, voters will choose representatives for the 543-member Lower House of the Indian Parliament.

Noting that unemployment and rising prices were the real issues in the Lok Sabha polls, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that the polls were also for saving the constitution and democracy in the country "which were under continuous attack from the BJP and the RSS".

He said if INDIA alliance government comes to power, they will remove poverty from India with a single stroke by providing Rs one lakh every year to every poor family across the country.

Addressing a rally, Rahul Gandhi said "berozgari, menghai aur bhagidaari" were the main issues facing the country, which were not being highlighted in the media.The former Congress president alleged that Prime Minister Modi was working only for a few billionaires and "was handing over everything to them".

He said there was so much discrimination in the wealth distribution in the country that 22 people owned as much of wealth as 70 crore Indians.Gandhi accused the BJP of attacking the religion and the culture of the tribals and giving away their land, forests and water.He talked about 'Panch Nyay' with 25 guarantees that the Congress has promised in its manifesto. The party's election manifesto released on Sunday asserted that it would reduce petroleum imports through a mix of electric mobility, network of charging stations, renewable energy production and improving energy efficiency.

About 85 per cent of India's crude oil requirements are met by imports, with the price of crude in the international market being the benchmark.Switching to other sources is seen as an avenue to reduce the dependence on imported fuel.

The party manifesto said it will enable homes across India to run devices like electric stoves, fan, AC, TV among others and also enable EV charging through solar energy. (ANI)

In its election manifesto - 'Sankalp Patra', the BJP has vowed to implement the Union Civil Code (UCC), maintain peace in the Northeast, among other key poll promises. "Article 44 of the Constitution lists the Uniform Civil Code as one of the Directive Principles of State Policy. BJP believes that there cannot be gender equality till such time Bharat adopts a Uniform Civil Code, that protects the rights of all women, and the BJP reiterates its stand to draw a Uniform Civil Code, drawing upon the best traditions and harmonising them with modern times," the BJP said in its manifesto. In a landmark move, PM Modi said on Sunday that the Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to bring the transgender community and senior citizens above 70 years of age whether poor, middle class or upper middle class, under the ambit of the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

Addressing the gathering of leaders at party headquarters in the national capital after the unveiling of the manifesto, 'Sankalp Patra', PM Modi said, "BJP has decided to bring transgender community also under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat scheme. Now BJP has resolved that every elderly person above the age of 70 years will be brought under the ambit of Ayushman Yojana." (ANI)

The manfisto released by the BJP also focuses on bringing forward more Lakhpati Didis. It promises to make electricity bills zero with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Also, the manifesto of BJP features India's Olympics bid in 2036, the implementation of the National Education Policy, and a law against paper leaks, among other promises. (ANI)

BJP on Sunday, April 14, released its manifesto or ‘Sankalp Patra’, with the tagline "Modi ki Guarantee", for the Lok Sabha election 2024

As the BJP released its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, party national president JP Nadda addressed the gathering of leaders at party headquarters in the national capital on Sunday and said the party's manifesto for the general election reflects what the founding fathers of the BJP had envisioned for the country.

"Our manifesto reflects what the founding fathers of the BJP had envisioned for the country. PM Modi has simplified the vision for the common man to understand and called it 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas'," Nadda said.

"Today, as we launch the Sankalp Patra, we will learn and discuss how we will serve the country for the next five years under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi," he added.

The BJP has received over 1.5 million suggestions for its manifesto, including more than 400,000 through the NaMo app and over 1.1 million through videos. According to party sources, the BJP's manifesto will focus on development, a prosperous India, women, youth, the poor, and farmers.

The party pledges to fulfil only those promises that are achievable. The theme of the manifesto will be "Modi's Guarantee: Developed India 2047," with a focus on cultural nationalism. The Bharatiya Janata Party formed the Election Manifesto Committee, comprising 27 members.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was appointed as the chairman of this committee. Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was appointed as the coordinator, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal was made the co-coordinator. (ANI)

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to release its manifesto or 'Sankalp Patra' for the Lok Sabha Polls 2024 today (April 14). The manifesto will be released at party headquarters in Delhi in the presence of PM Modi, PTI reported.

Andhra Pradesh CN Jagan Mohan Reddy was injured in a stone-pelting attack during the 'Memantha Siddham' bus yatra in Vijayawada on Saturday evening.

According to YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) sources, an unidentified individual hurled a stone at the Chief Minister, injuring him on his left eyebrow.

The party sources said that he was immediately provided first-aid on the bus.CM Jagan continued his bus journey after receiving first aid, they added.More details awaited.(ANI)
