Frank Grillo aka Crossbones reveals 'Avengers 4' will have flashbacksOct 26 (AZINS) Actor Frank Grillo says his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) character Brock Rumlow aka Crossbones will make an appearance in the upcoming Avengers 4.

In an interview with UFC Unfiltered podcast, the 53-year-old actor said the character will make an appearance via a flashback scene in the film.

"He (Crossbones) makes an appearance in the next Avengers movie, but it's a flashback. And I'm allowed to say whatever I want because I'm never doing another Marvel movie...because I'm 117 years old," Grillo said.

Crossbones first appeared in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and later briefly appeared in 2016 blockbuster Captain America: Civil War.

Grillo's statement strengthens one fan theory based on leaked images from the sets of Avengers 4. These pictures showed Chris Evans' happy face in the 2012 version of Captain America costume in The Avengers movie.

This, combined with Grillo's revelation give more power to the speculations that these flashback sequences could be part of a time-travel plotline.

The happy face of Steve Rogers aka Captain America is also giving hopes to the MCU fans that after the doom and gloom of Avengers: Infinity War, next Avengers installment may have a happy ending after all.

But again, being the devil's advocate, what if the filmmakers shot dummy scenes to throw everyone off the scent?

We will still have to wait until the movie releases on May 3, 2019.
