Apple introduces new MacBook Air with Retina Display starting at $1,119Oct 30 (AZINS) At an event in Brooklyn, Apple unveiled a new MacBook Air. The device starts at $1,199 and will be available to order today and will be available for purchase starting November 7.

The new model will come with a 13.3-inch, edge-to-edge retina display. It offers the company’s signature Retina technology along with Touch ID. It is powered by an 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor and also comes with Apple’s T2 security chip which is said to be the more secure boot process of any notebook. It is paired with 16GB of RAM and up to a 1.5TB SSD.

The new MacBook Air comes with Apple's new butterfly keyboard which was first introduced on the MacBook Pro. It also includes a new trackpad that supports force touches. Connectivity features include a headphone jack and two USB-C ports as well.

The device is made 100 percent recycled aluminium and the computer is much lighter and has an reduced overall volume by 17 percent.

The new Macbook Air weighs 2.75 pounds, which is comparatively lighter than the previous MacBook Air model that was available for 2.96 pounds.
