Sanjay Dutt might join KGF 2 cast, says YashFeb 9 (AZINS) After the tremendous success of KGF: Chapter 1, Yash now appears ready to welcome Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt into the world of KGF. The south superstar confirmed that Dutt has been approached for KGF 2. He in fact went on to add that the makers had approached Sanjay for Chapter 1 as well. He told The Asian Age, “We had offered him Chapter one, which he did not accept perhaps for reasons of date availability. But yes, we have offered him Chapter 2 of KGF.”

DNA had previously reported that Sanjay Dutt might return to South Indian cinema with the film. The makers had decided to approach Sanjay for a key role, to help expand the market across the country. The team has only finalized the actress Srinidhi Shetty and is presently working on pre-production, finalizing various modalities so as to have a smooth shooting process.

A source further explained the publication why Dutt did not take up Chapter 1. The little birdie said, “The only reason he did not accept KGF Chapter 1 was because it was a regional film. And the main lead Yash was unknown outside Karnataka. Now after Chapter one is a blockbuster and Yash is a household name across the country, the KGF franchise seems much more attractive to Dutt.”

The movie KGF was originally touted to be a regional film, which was one of the reasons why many people did not believe in the film initially. But as soon as the film’s trailer was out, and when Yash won the race against Shah Rukh Khan in Zero, more people trusted the film.

KGF today has completed 50 days since its release. The total worldwide gross collection of the movie might be approximately Rs. 225 crore. The makers have kept the Box Office number under wraps. The Hindi version of Yash’s KGF was produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.
