Watch: 'Bohemian Rhapsody' star Rami Malek falls off stage after Best Actor win at Oscars 2019Feb 26 (AZINS) 'Bohemian Rhapsody' star Rami Malek's Best Actor Oscar 2019 acceptance speech ended on a rather disastrous note on Sunday as he fell off the stage soon after. Rami even ended up dropping the precious Academy Award, he had just bagged.

The 37-year-old, who played Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in 'Bohemian Rhapsody', required assitance from paramedics. Luckily, no bones were broken and no harm was done. We know because the actor was seen partying hard after the Oscars at the Governor's Ball.

This was his first ever Academy award and hence the over-excitement was totally justified. The actor beat Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Viggo Mortensen and William Dafoe for the coveted award.

Rami Malek attended the Oscars with his girlfriend Lucy Boynton, also his co-star in Bohemian Rhapsody. Their passionate kiss is still making noise on the internet.

"We made a film about a gay man, an immigrant, who lived his life just unapologetically himself. The fact that I'm celebrating him and this story with you tonight is proof that we're longing for stories like this," Rami Malek said in his winning speech.

The actor went on to add, “I am the son of immigrants from Egypt, a first-generation American. And part of my story is being written right now. And I could not be more grateful to each and every one of you, and everyone who believed in me for this moment. It’s something I will treasure for the rest of my life.”

Malek is just the second actor of Arab descent nominated for an Oscar, after Lawrence of Arabia star Omar Sharif. Malek is the first to win, reported CNN.
