Mahesh Babu breaks silence on why his film with Sukumar is NOT happeningMar 5 (AZINS) Back in 2017, actor Mahesh Babu announced that three projects are in the pipeline for him even as he was working on Spyder with AR Murugadoss. While he has finished the film with Koratala Siva, Bharat Ane Nenu and has his film with director Vamshi Paidipally in the pipeline, his film with director Trivikram Srinivas never saw the light of the day and talks of the film never happening started doing the rounds over time.

In the midst, the release of Arjun Reddy, Rangasthalam and the recent F2 changed the game. Projects with the film’s directors Sandeep Reddy Vanga, a second collaboration with Sukumar and now a film with Anil Ravipudi have all been in talks.  While the collaboration of Sukumar and Mahesh Babu was highly anticipated after their earlier collaboration 1: Nenokkadine being a major hit, the film is now not happening. The leading actor of Telugu cinema took to social media to announce the same.

“Due to creative differences, my film with Sukumar is not happening. I wish him all the best on the announcement of his new project. Respect always for a film maker par exellence. 1 Nenokkadine will remain as a cult classic. Enjoyed every moment working on that film. All the best sir for your new film (sic),” posted Mahesh on his social media.

Soon after the news broke out, social media was full of disappointed fans expressing sadness that the much awaited collaboration didn’t happen. The actor director duo worked on coming to a consensus with regards to the script for almost six months before things didn’t work out. A period film, a romance drama and even a socio drama were discussed before deciding that it may not work out for the duo. Sukumar is now expected to work on a film with Allu Arjun.

Meanwhile, news of Mahesh’s collaboration with F2 director Anil Ravipudi has been doing the rounds even as his film with Sandeep will begin only after the filmmaker wraps up the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy with Shahid Kapoor. As of now, Mahesh is awaiting the release of director Vamshi Paidipally’s Maharshi in April.
