Flashback Friday! Kargil Vijay Diwas: Did you know India had special gift for Pakistan and Raveena Tandon was involved?
July 26 (AZINS) It's 20 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the wishes for the Indian Army have been pouring in across the nation. The social media pages are filled with tributes paid to the soldiers and we Indians are proud and will always be. On July 26, 1999, the Indian Army won the Kargil War against Pakistan and it was fought for about 60 days and it finally ended on that date. During the war, one of the warheads had a message which read as, "From Raveena Tandon to Nawaz Sharif". This instantly became a topic of discussion nationwide.

A couple of years back, during an interaction with Scroll.in, Raveena Tandon was asked about the same and her visit to soldiers post Kargil war. To which she stated, "I do not like confrontation or violence. I am aware of the picture and what probably inspired it. But I also visited the soldiers during the war and came back shaken. I did not visit them to promote a film. I genuinely felt affected by what was happening."

She further said, "My father was a huge patriot. My mother’s family suffered the Partition holocaust when they fled Sindh. I grew up with stories of sacrifice, valour and courage. Since I have received so much love and affection from our people, it is my responsibility to give back something as well."

In 2016, Raveena had taken to her Twitter page and shared an old photo with a caption stating, "Not a clear picture. At Kargil meeting all the valiant braves! #kargil99 #kargilvijaydiwas unforgettable memories"

In the interview, she added, "I do not advocate war. I would rather have people sit down and talk out their differences. But if my children or my country are under serious, real danger, I will go all out to defend them."
