Shahid Kapoor compares 'Kabir Singh' to Ranbir's 'Sanju', points out silence on scene about sleeping with 300 girls
July 26 (AZINS) Shahid Kapoor-Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh has been under the scrutiny since a long time now. Shahid Kapoor had recently opened up about the comments which state that the film was misogynystic and said that the intent of the movie was to show that the character had gone beyond control.

The actor once again spoke about the movie in an interview to Hindustan Times. This time however Shahid happened to compare his film with Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju, pointing out that the movie was equally misogynystic, but was not questioned. This thus made Shahid feel that the criticism over Kabir Singh was slightly misplaced.

"So I frankly felt that the criticism [for Kabir Singh] was a bit misplaced. There have been films in the recent past which had characters exhibiting similar traits but no one really picked on them this way. To be candid, Sanju had a scene where the guy is sitting in front of his wife and saying he has slept with over 300 women. No one picked on it the way they went after Kabir Singh," he told the daily.

He was however quick to add, "And this is not to say that I didn’t enjoy Sanju. I thoroughly did, because I didn’t watch it to see how people should be, I watched it to see how that character’s life is. The fact that people loved Kabir Singh has just told me that people watch the film for what it is. We were always honest, right from the very first promo of the film that it’s a fictional account of a very flawed character. There is no protagonist or antagonist in the film. Kabir is the protagonist, he is the antagonist. So all the issues lie within him."

Sandeep Reddy Vanga had spoken about the scene and mentioned that if two lovers cannot slap each other, then he does not feel any emotion there. Meanwhile Arjun Reddy (original Telugu version of Kabir Singh) star Vijay Deverakonda also in his recent interview explained that various people have different point of view towards a situation. The movie however has gone on to make history, being the highest grosser of the year. It still continues to stay steady at the Box Office, touching Rs. 275 crore mark.
