'Are we even going to last 15 minutes?’: Shahid Kapoor reveals first thoughts on seeing Mira Rajput
Shahid Kapoor surprised one and all when after being linked to numerous Bollywood actresses, the chocolate boy decided to settle down in an arranged marriage with a middle-class girl, Mira Rajput. Four years after their wedding and two kids later, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput still fondly remember their first meeting and how their relationship progressed.

In an interview to Vogue, the husband-wife and proud parents of Misha and Zain Kapoor - Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput - opened up about their first meeting and journey towards the wedding. Being an actor, Shahid and Mira's journey always co-incided with movies.

Remembering his first meeting, Shahid said, “The only thought going through my mind was, ‘Here we are, sitting in this room on these two big sofas with nobody else around...Are we even going to last 15 minutes?’”

Meanwhile Mira mentioned, “I’ve never been into movies, which I think was a good thing because following that first chat, when we actually got to know each other, it was for who we are…not for who others think we are,” adding, “He was just off Kaminay and very scruffy!”

Shahid, who played the mad Tommmy Singh in Udta Punjab, was consistent in stating that she supported him and was his biggest critic. Talking about her reaction, Shahid joked, “We sat together on a sofa and somewhere around the interval she had moved five feet away to the other edge. She looked at me and said, ‘You’re not this guy, right? Is this guy anywhere inside you? Tell me now while I can still walk away!’”

The doting parents are raising two kids Misha and Zain together. Talking about the same, the actor stated, “Our kids are the first two projects we actually did together. One year into an arranged marriage, when you haven’t spent enough time together [earlier], you really evolve around each other.”

Revealing his favourite moment from the wedding, Shahid happened to mention, “The Anand Karaj ceremony was my favourite moment from the wedding. It was just a room full of our people, celebrating us, perfect strangers who were going to take this insane journey together…” He added, “Even though it’s just been four years, a large part of who I am has been formed since the day we got married.” In total contrast, Mira's memory of the wedding was, “My wedding outfit arrived five days before the wedding!”
