'Don’t believe in that character because it's not me as a person': Kareena Kapoor on Kiara Advani's role in Kabir Singh
It's been almost four months since Kabir Singh released but the discussion of the characters have not stopped yet. The film has emerged to be one of the blockbusters of the year by minting more than Rs 300 crore. It is Shahid Kapoor's first film to achieve this incredible feat. However, people bashed his role by calling it toxic and many even called out the director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for making a powerless female lead played by Kiara Advani.

Now, during an interaction with Filmfare, Kareena Kapoor Khan was asked about Kabir Singh and Kiara's character in it. She stated, "I haven’t seen the film. But clearly it hasn’t affected anything because the movie has made over 300 crores. So, it’s a double-edged sword. Because there are people who are actually going to watch it and have found something that they love. Otherwise, it is not possible for it to have done so well."

She added, "But I’m happy that people are talking about it and if you ask me, I don’t personally believe in a character like that because that’s not me as a person. But at the end of the day, it’s a film and it has worked. But I’m happy that people are talking about things and they want their voice to be heard. But they clearly are outnumbered by the people who have loved the film. That’s the reality which is sad."

Interestingly, Kabir Singh stars Shahid in the titular role, who happens to be Kareena's ex-boyfriend.
