Payal Rohatgi detained by Rajasthan Police for objectionable remarks on Motilal Nehru
Model and actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Payal Rohatgi is in the spotlight but for all the wrong reasons.

The actor was detained by Rajasthan Police on Sunday from her Ahmedabad residence for her alleged comments on Indian lawyer and politician Motilal Nehru, father of former Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru.

Superintended of Police Mamta Gupta confirmed the same and said, "Payal Rohatgi has been detained. Case registered."

As per reports, the actress was detained by a police team led by an  Inspector rank official and is likely to be produced in court on Monday, December 16.

Tweeting about the same, Payal wrote, "I am arrested by @PoliceRajasthan for making a video on #MotilalNehru which I made from taking information from @google Freedom of Speech is a joke @PMOIndia @HMOIndia".

This is not the first time that Payal has come under the radar for her remarks. Earlier in December, a notice was served to the former Bigg Boss contestant for allegedly posting an objectionable video referencing former Prime Ministers, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Indira Gandhi.

Lokendra Paliwal, Investigating Officer, Sadar Police Station, Bundi, at the time had said that the complaint was filed by Rajasthan Youth Congress general secretary Charmesh Sharma.

"Rajasthan Youth Congress general secretary Charmesh Sharma has filed a complaint stating Payal Rohtagi has posted an objectionable video about JL Nehru, Indira Gandhi on Facebook on September 1. During the investigation, our team reached her residence in Mumbai. Later, we met Rohtagi at her parent’s home in Gujarat. We have given her the notice to file a reply in the case," he had told ANI.

Charmesh had filed the complaint in October at Bundi Sadar police station, following which the police registered a case under 66 and 67 of the IT Act. Payal at the time had also posted a video on the social media apologizing over the matter.
