Hollywood actor John Cusack expresses solidarity with protesting Jamia Milia Islamia students 'brutalized by PM Modi'
As the Jamia Milia Islamia protests continued and took the violent turn, more and more people spoke about it. Along with many Indian celebrities condemning the act, the message of protests even reached Hollywood. American actor John Cusack took to Twitter as he spoke up on the Jamia Milia Islamia protests over Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Quoting Arundhati Roy, John Cusack tweeted, "Three years ago, we stood obediently outside banks as demonetization was imposed on us, a policy that broke the back of our country's economy. Now the National Register of Citizen coupled with the Citizenshill. Amendment Bill is set to break the back of our Constitution and cut the ground from under our feet. Are we going to stand in line once again, obediently, and comply with this policy that eerily resembles the 1935 Nuremberg Laws of the Third Reich? If we do, India will cease to exist. We are faced with the biggest challenge since Independence. Stand up. Please. Stand up."

He captioned the image, "Stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters and students in solidarity being brutalized by Modi"

Apart from John, various Bollywood celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Sidharth Malhotra, Vicky Kaushal among others urged for a peaceful protest. PM Modi also tweeted that the act does not affect Indian citizens of any religion.
