'Important to not lose myself in this': Mardaani 2's Vishal Jethwa talks on playing villain in Rani Mukerji's film
So evil and dark was debutant Vishal Jethwa as the rapist and killer in Mardaani 2 that everyone who went to watch the film could not stop talking about it.

Recently during an interview with an entertainment portal, Vishal opened up about playing the antagonist, his prep for the role and bagging his first film opposite Rani Mukherji.

Speaking about his role as a brutal rapist, Vishal said that it was emotionally painful and draining for him to prep for the role of Sunny.

"It was very, very hard for me but I knew I had to prove myself as an actor. The preparation for this film was a painful process for me emotionally. I knew that for media and people to love my character, I will need them to hate Sunny and I prepped really hard. It was not easy because I am not this evil person", he said.

Speaking further about his experience working with Rani, Vishal said, "Everyone says that once on set, you should forget that it is Rani ma'am in front of you but Shivani Shivaji Roy but during an action scene, I couldn't forget it is Rani Ma'am. Because if I punched Shivani and god forbid, I hit her for real, the next hand on me won't be Shivani's but Rani Ma'am (laughs out loud). I was very scared of that."

Vishal made his Bollywood debut with this film. Before movies, Vishal was a household name when he essayed the character of Akbar on Bharat Ka Veer Putra - Maharana Pratap.

Mardaani 2 is a story inspired by real-life events of crimes commited against women. The film shows Rani's character and her  race against time to capture a brutal serial rapist, who systematically targets women.
