While the weekend collections were about Rs 18 crore.

Now, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the week one collections of Mardaani 2 are pretty decent. He tweeted, "#Mardaani2 is trending well on weekdays... Limited decline on Tue and Wed [vis-à-vis Mon] will help put up healthy *Week 1* total... Fri Rs 3.80 crore, Sat Rs 6.55 crore, Sun Rs 7.80 crore, Mon Rs 2.85 crore, Tue Rs 2.65 crore, Wed Rs 2.25 crore. Total: ? 25.90 crore. #India biz... Biz affected in some circuits."

Mardaani 2 is directed by debutant Gopi Putharan and produced by Aditya Chopra under his home banner Yash Raj Films.

Earlier during an interaction with DNA Online, when Rani was asked if she got emotional while reading the script, the actor said, "I felt like doing the film. Of course, this is the harsh reality and that's the reason why Mardaani as a franchise is probably born. It's so relevant with the times that I think a film like this is made because it's made for the girls, for the women, to make them aware that this is the kind of crimes that are happening and we must be alert and aware about these things. The more we are alert and aware, the more we will protect ourselves and we can protect ourselves better."
