RIP Kushal Punjabi: 37-year-old actor commits suicide, Chetan Hansraj clarifies he was disturbed
Television actor Karanvir Bohra had confirmed Kushal Punjabi's demise earlier in the day. News wire agency ANI has now reported that Kushal's death was rather a suicide. On Thursday night at 11.10 pm, Kushal tied himself from the fan at his residence in Bandra West, Mumbai, with a nylon rope.

A suicide note written in English was found by the police. The note states that no one is responsible for Kushal Punjabi's death. It also mentioned distribution in his property between his parents and his son.

Talking to Times of India, Chetan Hansraj stated, “Yes, it is a suicide. He was going through separation from his wife and he was also down with sickness. I still can’t believe that Kushal is no more with us. I spoke to him a couple of days ago and he discussed with me that he was disturbed. I tried telling him that things happen in life and he should just fight back. But I never imagined that he will take such a step. It is heartbreaking.”

Chetan, who knew Kushal for 20 years, called him a fighter and a positive, fun-loving guy. While informing people about his demise, Bohra had also stated the same things.

On the work front, Kushal was last seen in Sidharth Malhotra-Jacqueline Fernandez's A Gentleman. He was famous for DJ Aqeel's remix video of Keh Doon Tumhe which was a sensation back in the 90s. He also worked in TV shows like CID, Kasam Se, Sssshhh... Phir Koi Hai, Fear Factor and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 and movies like Lakshya, Kaal, and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal.
