Shah Rukh Khan to finally star in Rakesh Sharma biopic 'Salute'; Fatima Sana Shaikh to play female lead?
A lot has been reported about Shah Rukh Khan being a part of Rakesh Sharma biopic tentatively titled Salute. Earlier it was rumoured that SRK backed out of the project as he wasn't keen on signing any new project. The film was earlier supposed to be done by Aamir Khan, but it was then passed on to SRK. Soon after he backed out, it was also rumoured that Vicky Kaushal might step in to play the titular role.

Now as per reports in The Times of India, SRK is indeed a part of Salute and the female lead has also been finalised. The portal revealed that Fatima Sana Shaikh is likely to be seen opposite SRK in the film. If the reports turn out to be true, it will indeed be a happy moment for Fatty as she has always claimed to be a huge fan of the superstar.

For the uninitiated, Rakesh Sharma is the first Indian to travel to space.

Earlier back in 2018, it was reported that SRK will kickstart the shoot in 2019. Talking about it, a source had told DNA After Hrs, "Shah Rukh wants to completely invest his time in the project Zero till it releases this December. He has wrapped up most of his ad shoots and has also requested the makers of his next film Salute to push it ahead by a few months as right now, his focus is on Zero. He was supposed to kick-start the biopic on Rakesh Sharma around October, but now, it will go on floors next year."
