'I respect what she did': Kartik Aaryan on Deepika Padukone visiting JNU campus
Deepika Padukone, in a surprise move, visited Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Tuesday night and stood in solidarity with the students who were protesting against the violence at the campus.

Her visit was seen in a different light by everyone, however, Pati Patni Aur Woh actor Kartik Aaryan in a recent interview came out in support of Deepika and said that he respects her for what she did.

"Of course, I respect what Deepika did yesterday and I hope a lot of people would stand up and a lot of citizens should come ahead and talk about it. Strict actions are needed. The way these things are happening, this is not our country, these things should not happen here. I really hope strict actions are taken," he said.

Kartik further said that police must take strict actions and no one should feel afraid of coming out to speak about the matter. "I saw the video and the way they entered the campus or the video in which... (refers to the video of Aishe Ghosh bleeding) again, it makes you...I just think this is a really bad atmosphere right now and it is necessary to take action," he added.

Many Bollywood celebrities like Anurag Kashyap, Pooja Bhatt, Anubhav Sinha, Richa Chadha, Lisa Ray, Vishal Dadlani, and Sudhir Mishra also appreciated Deepika for supporting the students and standing up for them, however, Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel tagged her move as an act of publicity.

In a series of tweets, Rangoli slammed Deepika and said that the Padmaavat actress is not interested in JNU students, only money.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak is all set to release on January 10, 2020. The film also stars Vikrant Massey in a pivotal role.
