'Penguin' teaser: Keerthy Suresh's OTT debut sets mood for sinister thriller
The teaser for the forthcoming horror thriller film in Tamil titled Penguin released on Monday starring Keerthy Suresh. As soon as the teaser was released it was enough to grab the attention of the audiences by its visuals and intriguing storyline where a mother goes in search of her missing son with a serial killer on the prowl.

In the video teaser, the scene opens with a blur shot of Keerthy talking to her son after which, in the next shot, the kid can be seen walking with someone carrying an orange umbrella. Cut to the next scene, we hear Keerthy calling out her son’s name Ajay. This is followed by scenes of search efforts to find Ajay.

The teaser sets the mood for the story brilliantly and establishes that something sinister is about to take place. The teaser closes with the shot of a masked killer. For the uninformed, the first look of the film was released last year in which Keerthy featured as a pregnant woman and it could be sensed from her profile that she’s sad. The film also stars Rangaraj and Linga in crucial roles. Keerthy reportedly gave her nod to the project after hearing two lines of the story as she was quite moved by the core plot.

Directed by Eeshwar Karthic, Penguin will premiere on Amazon Prime on June 19. Produced by Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films, the film has music by Santosh Narayanan. It is the second mainstream Tamil film, after Jyotika’s Ponmagal Vandhal, to directly opt for OTT release owing to the coronavirus pandemic. On the work front, Keerthy also awaits the release of her Telugu film Miss India.
