SAVE RAJI AND OTHER LEUKEMIA PATIENTS

Rajalakshmi "Raji" Balachandran a mother of two children, aged 13 and 11, has been diagnosed with ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA (ALL Ph+), an extremely aggressive and difficult to control type of BLOOD CANCER. Like Raji, you will find various Leukemia patients who need an urgent transplant and are in need of both a bone marrow donor and funds, at the following website http://cpaaindia.org.

Your donations here will help Raji with funds for a bone marrow transplant as soon as an unrelated bone marrow donor is identified. You will appreciate that once a Leukemic patient achieves remission through chemotherapy they have a few months within which to get a transplant. Otherwise they relapse into the Leukemia and have very little chance of survival. NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL - EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS.

Raji is is looking for a bone marrow match and for funds to come to the US to get a transplant. Like Raji, there are thousands of people currently looking for a stem cell marrow donor. This Cancer Walk is designed to help these thousands of people by testing people for free with a simple cheek swab and to also raise funds for Raji's transplant.

Here are the various ways you can help SAVERAJI .... 

• You can register to take part of the SAVERAJI CANCER WALK and be in TUCSON on January 19, 2008 and test to be part of the marrow registry with a simple CHEEK SWAB
  
• You can register for the SAVERAJI CANCER WALK and If you CANNOT BE IN TUCSON ON JANUARY 19 then if you register for the run and email any one of the SAVERAJI members then a kit will be arranged for you to do the CHEEK SWAB in Tucson and Phoenix/Tucson the next week. We could send you a kit to your residence for you to do it at your own convenience.
