'Saroj Khan taught me for hours how to do dip for film dancing': SRK remembers his 'first genuine teacher in industry'
Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter page and paid a tribute to Saroj Khan who passed away on Friday morning. The superstar called her his 'first genuine teacher' in Bollywood and praised her for looking after him throughout his career. Saroj had choreographed SRK in movies starting with Baazigar, Dilwale Duhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Swades to name a few. Shah Rukh concluded his tweet by writing how much he will be missing her.

The tweet read as "My first genuine teacher in the film industry. She taught me for hours how to do the ‘dip’ for film dancing. One of the most caring, loving & inspiring personas I have ever met. Will miss you Sarojji. May Allah bless her soul. Thank u for looking after me."

Earlier during an interview, Saroj Khan had opened up on giving Shah Rukh Khan his iconic arms pose. She had said, "We were shooting Baazigar in Mauritius. He (SRK) takes the name of land and sky, there's a back shot and he opens his arms. Then he turns and reveals name on his chest by opening his shirt. I gave him this action there."

Meanwhile, Saroj was admitted to a hospital in Bandra after she complained of breathing issues. She was even tested negative for COVID-19. She is survived by two children - son Raju Khan and daughter Sukaina Khan. The three-time National Award-winning choreographer was laid to rest at a crematorium in Malad.
