Is Kiran Rathod Andhra’s Monica Belucci?

Kiran Rathod is back. After a long gap, she is acting in a Telugu film which was launched on Thursday, July 09, 2009. The nteresting thing about the film is that she is going to romance with a 13-year old boy in this film. Director Narasimha Nandi is directing this film based on Italian film, Malena (2000) in which the svelte Italian actress Monica Belucci played main role and did some steamy sequences. Kiran Rathod is donning her character in Telugu while a new boy, Karthik, is playing the role of the early teenage kid.

 

NTR - Ileana together again for next film

NTR teams up with Ileana again. They are going to romance together again on screen for director Meher Ramesh’s next film. NTR and Ileana first paired up together for Krishnavamsi’s Rakhi and now producer Ashwini Dutt has roped in them together again for this film. For Ashwini Dutt, NTR and Meher this is second film together after their Kantri. The movie will go to the sets from October. Manisharma scores the music while Sameer Reddy handles the camera.

Ravi Teja’s 'Anjaneyulu' to release on Aug 12

Ravi Teja and Nayanatara’s Anjaneyulu has almost completed its shooting and is gearing up for release on August 12th. Director Parusharam of Yuvata fame is known for finishing it off very fast. And he did it in record time for Anjaneyulu. At a time, when big star’s movies are taking more than one and half years to complete, he is completing it in within four months of the launch. The movie is in the final stages of shooting and the audio is expected to hit the market on July 21st.

Ravi Teja plays a journalist with HMTV channel. Nayanatara plays his love interest. It is an out and out entertainer with some action

V.V.Vinayak to direct Allu Arjun again

Director V.V.Vinayak is all set to direct Allu Arjun again for Geeta Arts. The film will go to floors in November of this year. The tentative title for the film is Badrinath.. The other cast and crew is yet to be finalized. Vinyak earlier directed Allu Arjun's third film Bunny. At present he is busy with NTR's film. Arjun's Arya-2 is gearing up for release, while his film with Gunashekar is on floors

Lawrence turns producer with Nag’s flick?

Buzz in the Telugu film industry is that choreographer turned director Raghavendra Lawrence is now all set to become producer. Taking cue from Prabhu Deva who is also turning producer this year with Siddardh as hero, Lawrence has decided to float his own production house. He will be directing his next film on his banner and has made Nagarjuna to accept to star in his maiden production. It is Nagarjuna who made him as director with Mass. Currently, Lawerence is busy with his Tamil film assignments as actor and would be finished them off by November. He will start his production by this year end.

 

It's Lt Colonel Mohanlal now!

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has been commissioned into the Territorial Army on Thursday, July 9, 2009, by army chief Gen Deepak Kapoor. The actor will get the rank of Lt Colonel.

The 49-year-old National Award-winning actor had in October 2008 said that he was interested in joining the Territorial Army. Rules had to be amended to accommodate him, as men above the age of 42 are not eligible to join it.

Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev and actor-director Nana Patekar had also joined the Territorial Army in 2008.
