First glimpse of Benedict Cumberbatch as Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'Nov 6(AZINS) Right after wrapping up his stage run with Lindsey Turner's Hamlet, Benedict Cumberbatch is out in Nepal shooting for Marvel's Doctor Strange.

Benedict Cumberbatch was cast as Dr Stephen Strange in December 2014 by Marvel Studios. Along with the Sherlock star, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, and Mads Mikkelsen make up the star cast for the movie. Scott Derrickson of Sinister will direct the movie.

Cumberbatch was spotted in the streets of Kathmandu, Nepal. He sported the disheveled look complete with a shaggy beard. Reminding us of his role in Painted with Words.

If we are to speculate, these scenes will make part of the film where Stephen seeks help for his hands after a car accident leaves them useless. This could be the part where he meets the Ancient One, played by Tilda Swinton.

Doctor Strange was also mentioned in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. So it is safe to assume that Stephen Strange has already got his powers by the time Phase 2 of Marvel is over.

After the wrap in Nepal, the filming will continue at Pinewood Studios in the UK, reports Huffingtonpost.

According to the Marvel plan laid out by Kevin Feige at D23 convention, Doctor Strange will hit the theatre in November 2016.
