Facebook has a French tricolour profile filter to let you show solidarity with ParisiansMumbai, Nov 14(AZINS) Facebook has a updated a new feature on the social media platform, letting users overlay the French tricolour on their profile photos to show their support.

It's not particularly helpful to anyone to simply recolour your online photo, but it's the only way a lot of people have to show their solidarity. Of course, if you have friends or relatives in Paris, Facebook also has a safety check tool that it's customised for this event, letting users know when their loved ones are safe. If you're in Paris, and have no other means of communication, you can find the link to the online tool here.

In addition, a lot of Parisians are going out of their way to shelter people left in the lurch by the attacks. If you feel unsafe to return home, or are currently visiting Paris with no place to stay, the hashtag #PorteOuverte on both Facebook and Twitter, is being used by locals to show they're welcoming any and all strangers into their homes.
