Twitch Plays recognised as a new genre of game
Mumbai, Jan 15(AZINS) New games are coming out all the time, with sequels, reboots, and experimental titles knocking it out of the park just as often as bad games surface. But it's not very often that a new game spawns an entire genre. DotA did that last, spinning off into a completely different type of game, what we now call MOBAs. And, years later, it's happened again.

Gameplay streaming website Twitch has finally recognised the magnitude of TwitchPlays' popularity, giving them a separate category on their page. TwitchPlays first surfaced when a group of modders set up a Game Boy Color Emulator for PC, loaded it with Pokemon, and then jury-rigged the Twitch's chat stream to let players watching to input commands. Of course, hilarity ensued, as well as over-the-top role playing. Once they beat Pokemon, Twitch plays went on to tackle the insanely difficult Dark Souls (and BEAT IT), before trying their luck at Fallout 3. It doesn't matter if you don't know the game, just hop in and test your patience as you watch team players and trolls alike blunder their way through. And you don't need to bother searching anymore, here's a direct link.
