Game that promotes killing Aborigines has sparked outrageMumbai, Jan 16(AZINS) A mobile game called Survival Island 3 has been pulled off Apple and Google app store after public outrage over rewarding players for killing Aborigines.

Survival Island 3 tasked players with surviving by any means necessary even if that means killing indigenous Australians.

The description of the game reads “Your goal is to survive.” as seen on 12 January on the iTunes store.

What threw people in hurdle is this screenshot showing an in-game alert that says “BEWARE OF ABORIGINES!”

The game was released on 14 December, priced at $4.49 (about Rs 305). It was listed as appropriate for anyone who is 12 year of age or older, on the basis of its less-than-realistic or cartoony styled theme much like what you would see in games like Minecraft or free-to-play Steam game, Unturned.

Survival Island 3 had over 1,200 reviews to get a 4.2 star rating out of 5, as seen on Google’s app store just before it was taken off.

A change.org petition that called for the removal of the game has over 48,300 signatures as of now.
