First Amazon Dash devices go on sale; now order online with the press of a buttonMumbai, Jan 20(AZINS) A new GE washing machine and 45 current Brother printers are officially the first appliances coming to market that can automatically place an order with Amazon when detergent or toner levels are low.

The Dash replenishment service is meant to make running out of essentials, such as dishwasher tablets and printer ink a thing of the past. Pressing a dedicated button will automatically order new supplies which are delivered to the door. Or in the case of the new appliances, the monitoring of detergent or ink levels and the ordering are done automatically.

"With Amazon Dash Replenishment, we want to make customers' lives even easier so they won't run out of items like laundry detergent, pet food or printer ink again -- customers simply activate Dash Replenishment when they are setting up their connected device and then rely on Amazon to automatically deliver those everyday essentials," said Daniel Rausch, Director, Amazon Devices. "It's exciting to make Dash Replenishment a reality-customers can start taking advantage of the service today and we will continue to launch and add new devices to the program this year."

As well as the first devices, on Tuesday, Whirlpool and Purell, the soap and hand sanitizer company, officially joined the Dash program.

Supporting devices from Samsung, Brita, Petnet and Sealed Air are also scheduled for launch in the coming weeks and months.

The service is yet to arrive in India, but when it does be sure it'll make your online shopping that much more convenient.
