No 'Iron Man 4'? Robert Downey Jr seems to think soMar 15(AZINS) Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr says there are no immediate plans to develop fourth installment of the hit Iron Man franchise.

The 50-year-old actor will be seen in his superhero avatar in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War but fans will have to wait longer for Iron Man to come solo, reported USA Today.

While Downey seems game to play this character for as long as Marvel lets him, he also admitted, "I don't think that's in the cards," when asked about Iron Man 4.

Since kicking off the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise in 2008, the three Iron Man films have grossed more than US$ 2 billion worldwide, and Downey's character has become one of the most prominent Avengers.

The actor makes his seventh appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Civil War and is supposed to make appearances in Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1 and 2.

The actor told USA Today that he considers Civil War as much an Iron Man film as Captain America's. "In a way it’s Cap 3 but for me it’s like my little Iron Man 4 and then it's back to the thing we all recognise. Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that’s how it is until it changes. If it changes," he said.
