Kesha says she was offered 'freedom' if she apologised and said she 'never got raped'Apr 5(AZINS) Kesha, who is presently involved in a legal battle with her producer Dr Luke, revealed that Sony offered to let her out of her contract, but says the price for that was way too high.

The 29-year-old songstress said that she was offered her freedom if she would lie and apologise publicly to Dr Luke and say that she never got raped. The 'Tik Tok' hit-maker further revealed that she turned down the deal because she will not take back the truth.

Kesha is still under her Sony deal after a judge refused to let her record music independently.

In her Instagram post, the singer wrote, "so. I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors. I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again."

The pop star has appealed a court decision that ties her to a recording contract with companies owned by music producer Dr Luke, who she has accused of rape, saying the ruling was akin to slavery. The singer, 28, has been seeking to nullify her six-album recording contract with her producer Dr Luke, his associated record labels, and Sony Music. But a judge in February declined to release her from the contract, prompting a #FreeKesha social media campaign and an outpouring of support from big name singers including Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus.

Dr Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, has denied allegations of rape and emotional abuse filed in a 2014 lawsuit and is countersuing. Both of those cases have yet to come to trial.
