Scientists discover 71-million-year old dinosaur fossil in AntarticaMumbai, May 7(AZINS) A team of scientists discovered a tonne of dinosaur remains in Antartica, according to Australian Broadcasting Corporation reports.

The fossil and dinosaur remains are believed to be between 67 and 71-million-years-old and have been found in Antartica by a bunch of international scientists.

12 scientists made the discovery during an expedition to the James Ross Island area.

To reach Antartica, the scientists flew to South America and then a five-day trip through the Drake Passage where they battled seasickness, snow and sea ice.

"It's a very hard place to work, but it's an even harder place to get to," Steve Salisbury, a researcher at the University of Queensland and one of the scientists on the expedition, says in a release.

The scientists said the fossil found are remains of a Mosasaurs, a marine lizard made famous by the film Jurassic World.

These fossils will be shipped to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh for further study.
