Hyundai unveils photos of wearable exoskeleton robotic suitMumbai, May 16(AZINS) Remember the movie Avatar directed by James Cameron? Well… It seems like Hyundai does, the latest creation by the company looks like it was inspired by 'Colonel Miles Quaritch' robotic suit. The south Korean company has unveiled photos of a wearable robotic exoskeleton suit that looks like something out of a science fiction movie that can be used for lifting objects, reports Yonhap.

According to Yonhap, the suit can reportedly lift up to 60 Kgs (about 132 lbs) and assist people with walking upstairs.

“This wearable robot that we are developing for commercial purposes will be used in diverse areas,” A Hyundai employee told Yonhap. “Such a robot development is in line with Hyundai Motor Group’s vision for free mobility of people and things.”

According to The Verge, the exoskeleton suit is an upgraded version of the Hyundai’s H-LEX suit.

Once developed, the robotic suit is expected to have applications in the military or industries concerned with lifting heavy objects.

The technology could also be used to assists South Korea's aging population and help elderly people stay in their jobs for longer.

Hyundai hasn't mentioned when the suit will be available.
