No scope for any debate on Ram temple after PM's statement: Rita Bahaguna Joshi

Jan 5 (AZINS) Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Rita Bahaguna Joshi Saturday said that there is "no scope" for any debate on Ram temple at Ayodhya after the Prime Minister's statement on it.

"There is no scope left for any debate on the issue (of Ram temple at Ayodhya) after the prime minister's statement on it. This is a country of 120 crore people and everyone has right to express his/her opinion on any issue. But what PM says is the government's line... And sub-judice matter should not be discussed in open," she told reporters here.Modi had said on Tuesday that his government will not bring an ordinance on the issue of Ram Mandir while the matter is being heard in the Supreme Court.

When asked that party leader Subramanian Swamy has demanded that the government should give the acquired land to the VHP for construction of temple, Joshi said "the entire issue of (title of) the land is pending in the Supreme Court which is analysing it... Let the court do its job which has fixed Janaury 10 as the next date (in the matter)." The UP minister was here to extend invitation for Kumbh Mela beginning on January 15 at Prayagraj.Joshi said that she met Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Bihar BJP chief Nityanand Rai and extended invitation on behalf of the UP CM Yogi Adityanath to visit Kumbh Mela.

She appealed to people of Bihar to take part in Kumbh Mela.Asked about the security arrangements, the minister asserted that "a very good arrangement has been made this year."There is no possibility of any untoward incident as a special emphasis has been laid on security aspect with 30,000 police personnel including 15,00 women police have been deployed in Mela area with integrated control and command centre equipped with 1400 CCTVs, she said.

The Kumbh Mela is being organised at 3,200 hectares of land this year against 1700 hectares of last time, she said adding that 1.22 lakh toilets have been built apart from 40,000 LED lights. Kumbha, which would begin on January 15, will come to an end on March 4, 2019.
