AK-203 Kalashnikov rifles will be made in Amethi, says PM Modi, slams Congress for not fulfilling promises

Mar 3 (AZINS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a poll rally in Rahul Gandhi's bastion Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and launched several development projects on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at the opposition and previous Congress-led governments saying that they failed to fulfill promises made and generate employment for the people of Amethi.

Addressing the people of Amethi, PM Modi said that one of the most advanced rifles in world AK-203 will be made in Amethi. It will be made by a joint venture of India & Russia. The Prime Minister added, "I express my gratitude to my friend Russian President Vladimir Putin, as this venture was made possible in such a short time by his support."

Indirectly taking a jibe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi said that some people just travel around the world and talks about 'Made in Ujjain', 'Made in Jaipur', Made in Jaisalmer'... but nothing happens and talks remains just talks, its under Modi government now when 'Made in Amethi' AK-203 rifles will be manufactured.

Speaking about advanced rifles for the army, PM Modi said that the armed forces in 2005 had asked the then government for advanced weapons. In 2007, Amethi's MP had said that the work in the ordinance factory will commence by 2010, but for 3 years, they were not able to decide what kind of weapon they have to made in the ordinance factory.

Further slamming the opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Some people have the habit of forgetting the public after getting votes. They want to keep the poor in poverty so they can say 'gareebi hatao' (remove poverty) generation after generation. We are giving strength to the poor to bring them out of poverty."
