'Masood Azhar ji,' says Rahul Gandhi, clip goes viral

Mar 11 (AZINS) Congress president Rahul Gandhi is being trolled on social media for calling terror outfit Jaish-E-Mohammad (JeM) chief Masood Azhar as 'Masood Azhar ji'. In a video which has gone viral on social media, Rahul Gandhi is speaking about JeM chief and referred him as 'Masood Azhar ji'. Rahul Gandhi said this while addressing a booth level meeting in New Delhi.

Slamming the Congress president, Union Minister Smriti Irani took to her Twitter page and said, "What is common between Rahul Gandhi and Pakistan?" Their love for terrorists. Posting the video along her remark, the minister added, "Please note Rahul ji's reverence for terrorist Masood Azhar - a testimony to #RahulLovesTerrorists."

This is not the first when Congress leaders have landed in controversies for referring terrorists in such a manner. Earlier, senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijaya Singh had also referred a wanted terrorist Osama Bin Laden by calling him 'Osama ji'. The senior Congress leader was severely criticised by the BJP and other party leaders.

So far, there is no reaction from Rahul Gandhi or any other Congress leader on Rahul calling JeM chief as 'Masood Azhar ji'.

Speaking at the same event, Rahul Gandhi also hit out at the Modi government over Doklam issue and said, "When Doklam issue was on, PM Modi went to China and held a meeting without agenda. He bowed before China with folded hands and said keep Doklam and that no one in India will come to know and the media will be tackled. Matter over. This is the reality of Modi ji."
