Congrats Hitman! Rohit Sharma becomes third fastest to reach 8000 runs in ODIs
Mar 13 (AZINS) In the ongoing India vs Australia ODI series, Rohit Sharma created history as he became the third fastest to reach the 8000 runs mark in ODIs. The Hitman was 46 runs away from the milestone before the start of this match.
Rohit joins Sourav Ganguly, to reach 8000 ODI runs. Both the India players have taken 200 innings to achieve the landmark.
Virat Kohli is the fastest. He took just 175 innings while AB de Villiers, who had gone past the 8000-run mark in his 182nd innings, is the second fastest.

In the last match, Rohit along with opening partner Shikhar Dhawan bettered their own record for India's highest opening stand against Australia.
The two were involved in a 193-run partnership for the first wicket as Dhawan scored 143 off 115 balls.
