IND vs WI: Bravo retires hurt morning after being hit by bouncer

West Indies cricket Darren Bravo has retired hurt during the fourth day of the second Test match between West Indies and India at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica on Monday.

The 30-year-old had to walk off the pitch after hitting Jasprit Bumrah to the cover for a boundary.

On Sunday, Bravo was hit on the head with a wicked bouncer by Bumrah. The ball had took a surprising bouncer and shattered his helmet stem guards.

The medics rushed in and after a thorough checkup, he was allowed to play on again. He faced only ten balls on Monday before going off.

Bravo will now be undergoing a medical examination, including tests for a possible concussion.

According to the Windies media manager, Bravo did undergo a concussion test at the end of the third day's play and passed it before play began today.

12th man Jermaine Blackwood was named in as Bravo's replacement for the rest of the series.

Blackwood now becomes the second ever 'concussion substitute' in Test cricket history after Australia's Marnus Labuschagne replaced Steve Smith in the ongoing Ashes series.
