IND vs SA: First T20I clash between India and South Africa abandoned due to rain in Dharamshala

India and South Africa's first T20I clash has been called off without a ball being bowled due to incessant rains at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala on Sunday.

It's was raining heavily in Dharamshala since the afternoon and the weather condition definitely did not improve as the time went on.

The 6:30 PM (IST) scheduled toss was delayed due to the bad weather but, things started looking a bit positive when the rain stopped for a few minutes.

The ground staff got to work to get the field ready in playable condition but unfortunately, the rain came back and the covers were pulled back on.

At around 8:00 PM, an hour after the supposed scheduled start, the match officials finally decided to call off the match as the relentless rain was showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.

"The rains continue and the match has officially been called off. See you in Chandigarh for the 2nd T20I #INDvSA," Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) tweeted.

With the opening match being abandoned, Team India will now be playing two T20I matches vs South Africa before facing the Proteas for a three-match Test series.
