India chased down the measly target of 42 inside 5 overs against debutants Japan in the ICC U19 World Cup 2020 tournament at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. 

India win by 10 wickets with 271 balls to spare as they enter quarter-finals.

Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kumar Kushagra stayed on the crease till the end as they scored 29 and 13 respectively to achieve the target of 42 in 4.5 overs.

The batsmen didn't break a sweat as 34 of the 42 runs came in boundaries - 7 fours and a six.

After electing to field first, the 'Boys in Blue' bowled out Japan for merely 41 runs in 22.5 overs.

While Kartik Tyagi set the tone up front with the new ball by picking back-to-back wickets in the fifth over, Ravi Bishnoi ran through Japan's top-and-middle order - thanks to two successive double-wicket maidens.

This is the joint second-lowest score in the history of the Under 19 World Cup. 

As for the Japanese side, Max Clements and Kento Ota Dobell shared a 13-run stand for the eighth wicket - highest in the innings.

Ravi Bishnoi at the post-match conference said, "I am really happy, it is my first Man of the Match award for my country and I am very excited. Planning was pretty clear and I executed well. I will continue with this performance in the upcoming matches too".

Indian captain Priyam Garg praised the Indian bowlers and said, "Very happy with the performance. The spinners were good, but the lines and lengths could have been better from the pacers. There's no pressure as such. We want to do well, we take every game as it comes".

As for Japan's performance, their captain Marcus Thurgate knew India will be a tough opponent to face.

"I knew it was going to be a really tough game. We didn't do our best, especially with the batting. We could have done better. We'll take a lot of positives from this game. We need to learn from our mistakes and keep getting better".
