India vs New Zealand, 1st ODI: Ross Taylor's unbeaten ton helps Kiwis take 1-0 lead

Shreyas Iyer's maiden ODI ton goes in vain as New Zealand defeated India by four wickets at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

The Men in Blue could not defend their mammoth 347 total as seasoned Ross Taylor anchored the Kiwi chase with an unbeaten 109 run-knock.

The Indian bowlers struggle continued as the hosts overhauled the target with 11 balls to spare.

While chasing, the BlackCaps got a comfortable start but the wickets of Tom Latham (69) and James Neesham (9) and Colin de Grandhomm (1) disrupted the batting line-up.

However, Taylor cemented his place on the field and did not let the host lose another winning match.

Earlier, sent into bat first, Shreyas Iyer (103 off 107), KL Rahul (88 not out) and Virat Kohli (51) took India to a good total.

Tim Southee (2/85) picked up two wickets for the hosts.

The victory has got the Kiwis to take a 1-0 lead in the ODI series. It was New Zealand's first win since India landed in their shores. Earlier, they had faced a humiliating five-match T20I defeat.
