Earthquake of magnitude 5.4 hits Sikkim-Nepal border, tremors felt in Assam, Bihar, West Bengal

An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale hit Sikkim on Monday night, the National Center for Seismology said. The quake occurred at 8.49 pm at a depth of 10 km near the India-Bhutan border.

People got frightened and rushed out of their houses. Earthquake tremors were also felt in parts of Assam, Bihar and West Bengal.
