Brahmins will get full security if BSP comes to power in UP: Mayawati

Political developments have intensified in Uttar Pradesh with the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections. In this episode, BSP is organizing a 'Prabuddh Sammelan' across the entire state. Party supremo Mayawati, while addressing one such program in Lucknow, said that if the BSP government is formed in UP, then the Brahmins will be provided security. Mayawati alleged that atrocities on Brahmins have increased in the BJP government and the action taken against them will be investigated.

Mayawati said that when the BSP was in power in the state, every word of Brahmins has been heard. She said that Kalpana Mishra, wife of Satish Mishra, has been given the responsibility of preparing the women's team.

The former UP Chief Minister said that BSP is the only party to follow the thinking of 'Sarvajan Hitay and Sarvajan Sukhay'. "BSP also implements what it says with honesty and integrity, we have also shown it by running the government four times in UP and have paid full attention to the progress of people of all castes and religions," she said.

Mayawati said that in the previous BSP government, all castes were treated equally and the party established the rule of law. "Earlier also, the Brahmin society was given the same protection and respect as other castes, but in 2012, due to the difference in the words and deeds of the SP government, caste-based discrimination took place. After this, BJP came to power with huge votes, but it did not meet the standards and the public is angry with their casteist and malicious action," she said.

Taking a jibe at RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's statement, Mayawati asked why then the BJP government discriminates between Hindus and Muslims, why does it treat Muslims step-motherly. Bhagwat had said that the ancestors of Hindus and Muslims are the same.

Giving clarification on the allegations of building statues and memorials in her government, Mayawati said, "I have done as much as I had to respect the gurus and our founders, now I am not going to get any new idol, park, memorial etc." She said that now if BSP comes to power, then full work will be done for their protection. At the same time, she said that this time, her focus is not on making statues and monuments but on the development of Uttar Pradesh.
