July 10 (AZINS) Soni Razdan was one of the most popular actresses during the 90s era. She portrayed brave female characters in the era, and eventually went on to win Mahesh Bhatt's heart and settle down with him. The actress featured in the 1993 release Gumrah starring Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt, which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt.

Soni Razdan played prisoner in the film and shared screen space with late Sridevi. One of the scenes required Razdan to smoke many cigarettes. The actress did so, unaware that she was pregnant with her second child Alia Bhatt.

Soni Razdan recollected the incident on Twitter. Replying to a post which shared stills from the film, she wrote, "One of my favourite films and highly appreciated roles. Was such a pleasure to act with the incredible Sridevi. Highly cherished memories. Was also pregnant with Alia at the time and didn’t know it yet. And did that scene where I smoked soooo many cigarettes."

Alia Bhatt is the youngest daughter to Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan. The couple was previously blessed with Shaheen Bhatt. Mahesh Bhatt already had two children - Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt - from his previous marriage with Kiran Bhatt.
