Shilpa Shetty Kundra, on Mahashivratri, held on Friday, took to her social media pages and announced that she and husband Raj Kundra have welcomed a baby girl. The baby girl opted for surrogacy for their second child and named their daughter Samisha Shetty Kundra. Shilpa had written on her Instagram post, "We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our little Angel Samisha Shetty Kundra Born: February 15, 2020, Junior SSK in the house ‘Sa’ in Sanskrit is “to have”, and ‘Misha’ in Russian stands for “someone like God”."

Now during an interaction with Mumbai Mirror, Shilpa opened up about surrogacy. She stated, "We had been trying for a second child for five years. I had signed Nikamma and had committed my dates to Hungama when I got the news that in February, we were going to be parents again. We cleared our work schedules for the whole month."

Shetty also praised her team and went on to say, "They helped me complete most of my work before I took the long break in February."

On being quizzed about choosing 'Samisha' as the name, the beautiful actor shared, "I came up with it when I was 21. I had always prayed for a daughter."

Raj had also shared the announcement on his social media pages with a caption stating, "I can’t express how happy I am to announce the newest member of our family Samisha Shetty Kundra blessed with a baby girl #gratitude."

The couple has a seven-year-old son named Viaan Raj Kundra.
