Dec 8(AZINS) The competition is fierce for the Oscar in visual effects, with Mad Max: Fury Road, Jurassic World, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens among 20 of the contenders shortlisted for the award.
This year, the Academy announced that the number of eligible films has been increased to 20 titles. That number will be further whittled down to a list of 10 later this month.

The 88th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live January 14 out of Los Angeles. The show will be held February 28.
