For us Indians, Diwali is not a single day affair. The celebrations begin two days before the New Moon or Diwali day, which is the thirteenth day or the Dhan Teras where Dhanvantari, the God of medicine is worshipped along with Gold and Silver coins. The fourteenth day or Naraka Chaturdashi witnesses the worship of Devi Kali. On the Deepawali day, Dhanlakshmi or the Goddess of Wealth is worshipped.
