Hiccup and Toothless' friendship is tested in new trailer for 'How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World'June 7 (AZINS) The friendship of Hiccup and The Night Fury/Toothless has to stand the test of time in the next chapter of How To Train Your Dragon. DreamWorks Animation released the enchanting first trailer for How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World on Thursday.

In the new trailer, we see that Hiccup has created a Dragon utopia in which Vikings and the fierce species live in harmony. During this peaceful time, Hiccup and Toothless discover that the dragon is not one of his kind. The duo, along with Astrid, discovers a hidden island where Toothless finds his own kind and his mate.

The scenes of this discovery are set to Ed Sheeran's latest hit 'Castle on the Hill' and the animation looks very similar to what we saw in Disney Pixar's Coco last year when Miguel visits The Land of the Dead. When Astrid's dragon -- Stormfly -- takes them into those hidden caves, the palette changes to groovy neon. We see transparent eggs with a lot of Night Fury fetuses in them. There's hope for Night Fury's kind. But hold that thought until you see his mating dance, improvised with the help of none other than Hiccup. The most hilarious 15 seconds of the 2.33-minutes-long trailer.

The happy times don't last long. Danger mounts at Berk while Toothless is entertaining the possibility of a partner in his life. Grimmel, a threat to Hiccup's status as the chief and Toothless' status as alpha dragon comes to hunt every Night Fury there is. The threat is real but this ending to the trilogy will answer the question why there are no dragons anymore.

The series regulars Jay Baruchel, TJ Miller, Gerard Butler, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, America Ferrera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Craig Ferguson, Kit Harington, and Cate Blanchett are returning to reprise their characters. F Murray Abraham is the voice of villain Grimmel.

Directed by Dean DeBlois, the third and final movie of the franchise will hit theatres on March 1, 2019.
