Instagram's long-format video will finally debut on June 20June 12 (AZINS) Instagram is reportedly set to roll out its long-form video format on June 20. The company is hosting a special event this month where it is expected to unveil the new hub, TechCrunch reported.

Instagram's long-form video hub is said to allow creators upload 4K resolution full screen videos longer than the current 60-second limit. These videos will also allow for monetisation.

Starting this week, you will be able to re-share a post from Stories of your friends. However, there's a catch. Instagram has added the ability for users to share a post from Stories. However, only those posts can be re-shared in which you have been tagged, Mashable has reported. You will be able to not only share it on your feed, but also add it to your own Story for a 24-hour duration.

The battle of the social media platforms continues as Instagram is reportedly also working on a way to provide their influencers new features that resemble Snapchat's ‘Discover' and could help lure YouTube stars. Instagram currently offers users the ability to post minute-long videos, which means many influencers rely on other platforms, such as YouTube or Snapchat to post their longer videos; however that may all change very soon.

According to a report from TechCrunch, multiple sources have claimed that the popular photo-sharing social network will offer “a dedicated space featuring scripted shows, music videos and more in vertically oriented, full-screen, high-def 4K resolution.” Furthermore, the average Instagram user will be able to upload longer videos too, though the maximum time isn't mentioned in the report.
