Father's Day: From Hermione's Time-Turner to Aladdin's lamp, fictional things that make for a perfect giftAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
June 17 (AZINS) Father's Day is being celebrated on Sunday. We hope you got something special for your dad to let him know how much you love him. We hope you also hugged him and told him that he means the world to you. For those who are raised by single mothers, we hope you showed her the importance of her presence in your life. We know you want to get them anything and everything best in the world. But there are things that cannot be bought. The magical objects of the bewitched fictional world are a few such things. They are far more powerful than our finite technology because you can't really curb your imagination. Ever wondered how easy life would have been for your parents if we had them?
If the magical objects from the world of fiction could come to life, what would you wish for? Not sure, well here’s a wish-list you could borrow from:
1. Time-Turner from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Found in the magical world of Harry Potter, an hourglass that can turn back time and allow you to recreate history. Although meddling with time is the most dangerous task inthe world. One has to make sure that their past self doesn’t see them as it can mess up the entire time orientation. The Time-Turner can be used to prevent man-made disasters like oil spill, construction collapses or your friend’s hook up with their stupid ex. Imagine this thing in your father's hand. He will never be late to work, he can go back and forth in time to avoid mistakes, he can spend more time with you and your siblings. No more missing the recitals or football practice.
2. Holy Grail from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Who wouldn’t want to have the drink that Jesus drank at the last supper? Moreover, who wouldn’t want to heal a fatal wound or, even better, be immortal? The Holy Grail has been preserved since ages, it can give you a never-ending life. You would survive everything and live on alongside all the generations to come. Your dad will be able to part knowledge to all the following generations. Besides why should only you suffer when the sentence begins with 'Hamare jamane me...'
Holy Grail definitely gifts immortality but it is not that easy to get hold of it. There are two cups to test your fate, one beholds an immortal life and another one holds death, choose wisely.
3. Tablet of Ahkmenrah from Night at the Museum.
Ever listened to your father reminisce about the concert he had attended with his friends? Go on and on about the brilliance of RD Burman and the talent of Kishore Kumar? Tablet of Ahkmenrah can be a useful gift for your dad in that case. This magical tablet can bring the dead back to life at night. With this in your father's possession, your family can listen to live concerts whenever you want! Listen to unheard stories, unheard tracks and solve mysteries from the olden days but make sure you save them from facing the sun or they will perish.
4. Aladdin’s lamp from Arabian Nights.
A lamp that holds the world’s most powerful magical creature, Genie. And let's face it, everyone wants a Genie. Every time you rub the lamp, the Genie will emerge out of the tiny lamp and grant you three wishes. Tell your dad to be careful about what he wants to wish for.
5. Trident of the Poseidon from Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge
A weapon of power and fury, which can also bring peace. Trident is a mythical weapon that belonged to Poseidon, the sea god. It is believed that this weapon can stir up the ocean, create gigantic waves, summon Kraken the sea monster, and cause earthquakes. If one could possess tremendous power on sea, they could also calm the storms and sail through it with ease. One can become the guardian of the sea and save the marine life from the wrath of human beings and balance the troubled life on earth.
Or you know, keep the quarrelling kids away from each other. Every father would like this for the sake of his peace of mind.
