Instagram may soon allow you to ask questions in StoriesAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
July 2 (AZINS) Instagram is on a spree to add new features to its platform. The latest addition appears to be the ability to post questions in Stories. Instagram appears to be testing the new feature which will allow you to post a question in Stories and seek responses from your friends, Engadget reported. The feature will add to the company's larger strategy of making the platform more interactive than before.
Additionally, starting this week, you will be able to add soundtrack to your Stories on Instagram as well. While recording Stories with background sound was possible earlier, the new addition allows you to choose a track before or after recording the video, Engadget reported. All you need to do is tap on a photo or video and a music icon will show up. Tap on it further to select from the library to search and add a track.
To cater the needs of users residing in developing nations with erratic internet connectivity and entry-level devices with low storage, Instagram recently announced the Lite version of its app. Instagram Lite for Android is now available in select countries and it began testing in Mexico this week, TechCrunch reported.
As the name suggests, the app is a toned down version of the original Instagram and weighs 1/55th the size of the main app. You can post photos, stories, and browse explore tab. However, it doesn't allow you to share videos or Direct Message friends.
Instagram also launched video calling for iOS and Android users. The new feature will allow up to four friends to group video call together through Instagram Direct. The company mentioned in a blog, “Last month, we announced that new updates were coming to Instagram to bring you even closer to the people and things you love. These updates — including Video Chat, topic channels in Explore, and new camera effects for Stories — are rolling out today.”
