July 3 (AZINS) A deluge of stars have been talking about their experiences of casting couch.
With a debate going on about the same currently, many celebrities, during interviews have opened up this issue.
Not just actors from Bollywood, including Swara Bhaskar has talked about this phenomenon, but other Indian film industry actors have also come out with their experiences.
Recently, during a media interaction, senior actress Aamani too, narrated her experiences.
Aamani was a leading actress in the Telugu film industry. Soon after her marriage, she went off radar, and made a comeback in Tollywood just a few years ago.
She had many hit films and some of them are Jamba Lakidi Pamba, Mister Pellam, Nakshatra Poratam, Subha Lagnam, Amma Donga, Subha Sankalpam and Vamshanikokkadu.
As reported by India Today, Aamani confirmed the presence of casting couch in Tamil and Telugu film industries.
Aamani said that during her initial days in cinema, she used to get calls from new production houses, who asked her to come to their guest houses alone, and not with her mother.
The yesteryear actress said that she immediately understood their intentions and avoided them.
The veteran actress revealed that these kinds of calls came only from new companies. She added that reputed and experienced directors and production houses never indulged in such activities.
Aamani, who is currently seen doing supporting roles, once acted alongside many leading heroes like Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Vijayakanth and Mammootty. As far as casting couch is concerned, it was actress Sri Reddy who brought the focus back on the casting couch in Tollywood by levelling serious allegations against many heroes in the Telugu industry. Since then, many actresses have come forward to speak about the issue.
